How emotions affect our lives.
Proverbs 16:32 NASB
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city.
Emotions affect us negatively or positively.
Negative emotions make our appearance sad.
While positive emotions make our appearance happy.
Negative emotions can lead us to make wrong decisions.
Positive emotions can stir us in the right directions.
Philippians 4:6-7 NASB
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Decisions made by emotions can affect our decisions we make daily.
Emotions are very powerful.
Wrong emotions can produce stinking thinking.
Proverbs 4:23 NASB
Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
You might have heard this said before that you are where you are because of the way you think.
Uncontrolled emotions can lead you into bondage.
Bondage to emotions means that you are capture by what you feel and you go the way your emotions take you.
Emotions have you under its control instead of you being in control of your emotions.
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Knowing when to release them is the factor in every case.
Controlled emotions lead to a better understanding that out of control emotions can stop us from being a better person.
Are you in control of your emotions?
Galatians 5:16 NLT
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
