Repent while you are in the land of trouble
Praise God while you are there until you come out.
Act 3:19 NIV
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
First to acknowledge what you know was wrong.
Because you know from God’s word the things that God hates.
Proverbs 6:16-19 NIV
There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes,
a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
Repentance is when you turn away from wrong doings and turn towards right doing.
This set you right with God and now you are pointed towards the way out of the land of trouble.
But, yet yes you are still in the land of trouble.
Now you must Praise God while you are still there until you come out.
Psalm 106:1 NASB
Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
This will make the journey smoother as you are coming out.
Praising God puts your mind and heart focused on the power of God to get you out.
It puts confidence in him who has made a way out of your land of trouble.
Why, Repent and Praise God
Psalm 121:1 NASB
A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.…
First, to stop the bleeding and going down a dark hole
Second, and then see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Third, looking back to see that you will never return to that place again.
Repent and Praise God
Praise him still as you are out of the land of trouble and into the land of success for promise.
It’s repentance that leads to life.
It’s repentance that leads us to knowledge.
It’s repentance that leads us to the face of God.
It’s repentance that leads us to the mercy of God.
It’s repentance that leads us to an abundant life.
And when praises go up and then blessing come down.
Repentance repositions you towards destinies design for your life.
Praising God repositions you under the windows of heaven and with open arms ready to receive the blessing of God.
Matthew 3:8 NIV
Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
Get ready to receive.
But, it starts with these two things.
Repentance and Praising God.
