We do not need a pat on the back

1 Peter 5:6:7 MSG

So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.

I know that this might be going against what I have said to you in the past, but I felt in my spirit to write about it.

First, why do we need a pat on the back, when this is clearly something we can give to ourselves?

We give up so much by waiting on someone else to give it to us.

We have self-assurance

We have self-worth

We have self confidence.

In God’s word he tells us that he has placed us above all others of the earth.

Then after Jesus came along we find out that we should not think of ourselves more than we should.

You can say; “Keep a level head while staying positive”.

Psalms 3:3 ESV

But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

We must always keep in front of our minds that God is our source and not our jobs. He gave it to us for a purpose.

Yes, we must know if the job we are doing is a good job, but once we find out what they are looking for, then we have a goal to reach, maintain and grow.

Once you have achieved that goal, then just continue and set some new standards of your own.

Colossians 3:23 NLT

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Now that you know, there is no question about it and now you don’t have to continue to look for that pat on the back. You have met every requirement and above.

Ephesians 6:7 NLT

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Achieving the success will become a way of life for you.

If you have done your best then that’s enough.

Your strength is within you.

Good character is seen always.

For those of you who do the will of the Father, they will continue to have good success.

Ephesians 6:5-8 KJB

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

They will continue to be blessed.

They will continue to make high marks.

They will continue to have the favor of men.

God word says; greater is he the lives inside of you then he that live outside of you.

He also says that the steps of a good man or woman are ordered by God.

Also I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Everything I touch turns to gold.

With this inside you and you are operating in life to the fullest degree, and you are already the best that anyone has seen.

So don’t be concerned if you have not gotten that pat on the back.

God has lifted you up.

So, if they don’t then he will.

Or he could put you in a new place, where you will be appreciated for your God given talents and abilities.

Keep your eyes on him

Don’t put your faith and trust in men.

If you keep waiting on men to receive acknowledgement of who you are and what you bring to the table, you most assuredly will be let down.

Trust in God to provide and promote you.

Your trust in men will ultimately bring displeasure to you.

Men are weak and fellable

Someway somehow they will at some point disappoint you.

But, God is the re-warder and lifter up of those who diligently seek him.
