Putting On Jesus

The next thing to do after receiving Jesus into your heart

Would be to put on the Lord Jesus Christ

 Romans 13:14

But put you on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

 Galatians 3:27

For as many of you as have been baptized into the Christ have put on Christ.

It’s like when you put on the whole armor of God, but it takes it a step further.

By putting on Jesus you’re also putting on the armor of light.

 Matthew 5:16 ESV

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Armor prepares you for the battle

Putting on Jesus means you are like him

After you put on Jesus the first thing you will ask yourself is

 WWJD

 What would Jesus do?

Putting on Jesus means you change the way you use to talk to talk like him.

How you handle issues of life would be handled like Jesus would.

When the enemy comes to question and test your knowledge of the Word, you would answer him just like Jesus did and would.

Putting on Jesus is to think like him.

 1 Corinthians 2:16 NLT

For, “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

 Talk like him

 Be like him in everyway.

But, using the way God made you in his purpose and plan for your life.

Jesus said we would do greater works then his.

Putting on Jesus means we can use his power when we put him on.

His power is now on us

 As well as in us

We are placed in Heavenly places like him

 Ephesians 2:6 NIV

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

When we put on Jesus we are jointly fitted together as one.

By putting on Jesus you have to consider your actions.

Your actions become his actions and his actions yours

Your actions before putting on Jesus were buried when you killed your flesh daily.

 Romans 13:14 NLT

Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

If he didn’t want us to be like him and act like him and do what he would do, he wouldn’t ask us to put him on.

WWJD will become your first thought before you do anything or make any decisions.

The greatest example Jesus came to show us is how to live in this world.

No matter what this world may try to do to you, there is nothing new under the sun.

 Ecclesiastes 1:9 NLT

History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.

There’s nothing He couldn’t handle and now there is nothing you can’t handle or do.

Remember to put Jesus on daily.

It’s your first thought in the morning when you rise and the first thought before going to sleep.

Nightmares will cease to come against you.

 In the morning its

 Good morning Holy Spirit

 And

 At night its sweet dreams

 To everyday and every night

 The end
